By aligning digital workflows with the requirements of government work, Autodesk is empowering contractors to build, design, and innovate across federal projects.
Whether delivering infrastructure projects or developing advanced products, federal agencies have traditionally relied on disconnected systems and manual workflows. To help break down these information silos and enable our U.S. federal customers to deliver better project outcomes, Autodesk today announced its commitment to expand the Autodesk for Government portfolio by seeking FedRAMP® Moderate Authorization for products within Autodesk Construction Cloud and Autodesk Fusion.
Building on the FedRAMP authorization achieved in 2024 for Autodesk Docs for Government and Autodesk BIM Collaborate Pro for Government, this expansion will bring comprehensive construction management and product design capabilities to federal agencies and contractors working on U.S. government projects. Additionally, the proposed expansion will support Defense Industrial Base (DIB) contractors pursuing Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) compliance.
The expanded Autodesk for Government portfolio will include Autodesk Build, Autodesk Takeoff, Autodesk Estimate, Autodesk BIM Collaborate Pro, and Autodesk Docs, delivering unified collaboration, field execution, preconstruction, and project management tools for design and construction projects. In parallel, Autodesk Fusion will continue to invest in realizing a multi-year, government, aerospace & defense roadmap to provide cloud-based product design, engineering collaboration, and product lifecycle management capabilities for manufacturing and design projects to this sector. The expanded solutions will be supported by Amazon Web Services (AWS) GovCloud.
Autodesk recognizes the need to support customers complying with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), CMMC, and FedRAMP requirements in today’s complex supply chains. The expanded Autodesk for Government portfolio will enable federal agencies and contractors to modernize workflows across both the built environment and product development while meeting stringent security requirements.
Autodesk Construction Cloud unites workflows across the construction lifecycle, from preconstruction through project closeout and handover–while preserving design intent from the earliest planning and design stages. As Autodesk Construction Cloud joins the Forma industry cloud, teams can further connect design insights to construction execution, enabling them to make informed decisions earlier and reduce downstream risk. With the ongoing significant federal government investments in infrastructure, federal agencies face unprecedented demand for efficient, cost-effective project delivery.
The Autodesk Construction Cloud products that will join the Autodesk for Government portfolio will address critical needs across the project lifecycle:
As projects grow increasingly complex and interconnected, government agencies and contractors are seeking solutions that bridge the worlds of the built environment and product development. Autodesk Fusion extends the Autodesk for Government portfolio to support product design, engineering, and product lifecycle management in a unified cloud environment. The Fusion industry cloud will support the government’s need for strict requirements, controlled access, and audit-ready workflows. Fusion products joining the Autodesk for Government portfolio will include:
Autodesk Fusion extends the Autodesk for Government portfolio to support product design, engineering, and product lifecycle management in a unified cloud environment.
As the Department of Defense implements the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) program to protect Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and Federal Contract Information (FCI), defense contractors face increasing pressure to meet stringent cybersecurity requirements. Autodesk is committed to supporting customers’ CMMC compliance needs, helping Defense Industrial Base (DIB) and Department of Defense (DoD) contractors meet their certification requirements while accessing modern, cloud-based design and construction tools.
CMMC requirements apply across the defense supply chain, from prime contractors to subcontractors working on DoD contracts. By targeting CMMC compliance alongside FedRAMP authorization, Autodesk is addressing the full spectrum of federal security requirements—enabling contractors to serve both civilian agencies and the Department of Defense with a consistent toolset that supports contractors’ compliance requirements.
By aligning modern digital workflows with the rigorous requirements of government work, Autodesk is empowering contractors to build, design, and innovate in service of some of the nation’s most critical projects.
